A short asset-owner check for identification, inspection status, corrosion evidence, relief protection and document gaps.

Use this as a first-pass record for a pressure vessel or similar item. It helps expose overdue inspections, missing design information and uncertain wall-loss decisions before a detailed competent-person review.

Can the equipment be uniquely identified and is the nameplate readable?

What should I look for?

Record asset number, manufacturer, serial number and any registration identifier.

Are the design pressure, design temperature, service and design Standard known?

Is the required external examination current?

Was the inspection or assessment performed by a person competent for that actual task?

External visual inspection, NDT interpretation, corrosion assessment and remaining-life decisions may require different competencies.

Is there no obvious leakage, severe corrosion, deformation, cracking or support damage?

Check the pressure boundary, nozzles, supports, saddles, skirts, attachments and connected piping.

Where wall loss is possible, are thickness readings mapped and comparable over time?

A single unexplained UT value is weak evidence. Look for repeatable locations and trendable records.

Where significant wall loss exists, is the minimum required thickness and remaining-life basis known?

Is the pressure-relief device correctly identified, in date and matched to the protected equipment?

A completed inspection is not enough if the defects remain open and unmanaged.
